A Psychology degree will qualify gradates for psychologist positions in many different areas such as clinical, health, counseling, school, experimental or research, and forensic. Psychology degrees are available at bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate levels. To become a practicing psychologist, you are required to earn a license. Earning a degree and license in counseling is another route people can take if they want to provide support, therapy, and rehabilitation to people in need. There are many different types of counselors including mental health, educational and school, career, marriage and family, and substance abuse and behavioral disorder.

Human Services degrees are available at bachelors, masters, and doctorate levels, and give an overview of human development and social issues. Human Services degree programs train students to observe patients and record information, conduct patient interviews, implement treatment plans, and deal with crisis intervention matters, among other things. Depending on the level of your Human Services degree, you may qualify for jobs in public services agencies, clinical social work, nonprofit organizations, or teaching in universities.
