Convenient Scheduling with one course a month At the Brown Mackie College system of schools, you don’t need to wait for a traditional “Fall Start.” Because our students aren’t always living “traditional” lives we offer new starts each month with day or evening classes that fit your schedule. Each class lasts one month. There’s no need to divide your time and energy between coursework and exams for multiple courses. We keep the focus on one course, one subject at a time to help you succeed.

OPOTA Graduates: Strengthen Your Career Potential with a Degree in Criminal Justice If you graduated from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA), you can apply credits toward a degree at Brown Mackie College at all Ohio locations. Plus, an active law enforcement commission counts as externship credits.

Persons who provide written original documentation as evidence of successfully completing the mandated OPOTA curriculum will be awarded credit in the following courses toward graduation requirements in the associate’s degree in Criminal Justice: CJ 1150 Introduction to Criminal Justice (4) CJ 1550 Criminal Investigation and Police Procedure (4) CJ 1650 Correctional Systems and Practices (4) CJ 2150 Criminal Procedure (4)

Additionally, persons who hold an active commission with a law enforcement agency in the state of Ohio are granted credit for the following additional course: CJ 2900 Criminal Justice Externship (4)
