Laboratory scientists perform manual and automated procedures to analyze and transmit patient data. They also facilitate quality control and quality assurance procedures in the laboratory.

The program is designed around the lifestyle of busy professional students. Students will complete 10 credits per quarter and can graduate in just over 2 years. Graduates will be eligible, and well prepared for, the national certification examinations for The Board of Registry (BOR) exam sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and The National Credentialing Agency (NCA) exam sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).

Our courses are taught through traditional lectures, collaborative learning, and laboratory exercises. The University of Cincinnati stresses and reinforces core competencies during the clinical year of the program to prepare students for one of the national certification exams.

This Bachelor’s degree program is for students who have completed an Associate degree in clinical or medical laboratory technology who wish to study in an online format as their personal schedule admits.
