Assessment/Evaluation
Going to school is fine, but how do you know if you learned something? Assessment, or evaluation, is a science in itself. When you study assessment, you’ll learn how to establish the goals, or learning objectives, of an educational program and how to test students to make sure they meet those goals.

Success in the classroom can be measured in a variety of ways. Must a student master a certain body of knowledge to be successful? Or, should students be graded on a bell curve? It depends on what they’re learning and why. You’ll also look at different ways of testing – multiple choice, oral exams, lab practicals, and written responses.
Understanding assessment is important for anyone who teaches. Not only does it help you gauge how much your students have learned, it helps you evaluate how effectively you’re teaching, too.
