Medical Informatics/Information Systems
Most medical records and health information technicians complete an associate degree in their field, and their employers prefer that they become registered health information technicians by passing a standardized examination. Programs in medical informatics and information systems teach you how to prepare, maintain, and organize patient medical records. To gain the skills and knowledge you need for this job, you’ll take both medical and computer courses.
