Phlebotomy

What’s a phlebotomist? That’s the person who draws your blood when you need a medical test done. Phlebotomists were traditionally trained on the job, but now short training programs are available.

When you train to become a phlebotomist, you learn about basic anatomy, the circulatory system, and how blood samples are prepared for testing. Safety training is a major part of your education, so you know how to protect yourself and your patients from blood-born disease.
