Graphic Design - Diploma

Magazines, newspapers, advertising, greeting cards, product packaging, and web development companies all require the services of graphic designers.

Students in this program will learn the basics of design, typography, and colour theory, and hone their skills in creative problem solving to help them learn how to meet the needs of clients quickly, creatively and economically. Students will be trained to design with the following software tools, Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Dreamweaver, and Adobe Illustrator.

Emphasis is placed on learning the skills and techniques of both computer graphics and traditional design and production tools, such as the drawing board and drawing instruments. Advanced training includes the execution of assignments encountered by professionals in the field. Students graduate with the training and portfolio required for an entry-level position in visual communications.
