Ph.D. in Health Services/Health Management and Policy
The Ph.D. in Health Services program prepares you to serve at the forefront of the design and delivery of cutting-edge health services in the private and public sectors. In the program, you will examine both the theoretical foundations of knowledge and the practical application of theory to the delivery of health care services.
The Health Management and Policy specialization prepares professionals to administer health and medical care services within the “integrated delivery systems” model. This specialization also prepares professionals to become administrators of health profession programs (e.g., nursing, public health, and allied health) in higher education institutions. Graduates are prepared to provide administrative leadership and to conduct research to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the services they administer.
