University of the Incarnate Word Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences
The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree is patterned after the traditional “inverted degree.” This degree format allows students who have completed two years work or an associate’s degree from a community college to complete a four-year degree without losing credit for most of their earlier work.
The degree plan has been structured to allow a student to broaden the technical/occupational work with advanced study in at least three academic disciplines at UIW, with no more than twelve hours and no fewer than six hours taken in any one discipline. Students who complete the BAAS degree will be eligible to enroll in graduate programs and, if they have selected their interdisciplinary module with care, enroll without prerequisite course requirements.
Admission Requirements: Completion of 60 or more hours, or an associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 2.5/4.0. Additionally, the student must have completed the Occupational/Technical Module in a discipline related to Business, Education, Humanities, Arts, or Sciences before admission into the BAAS major.
