Medical Assisting, A.A.S.
The Bauder Medical Assisting program’s objective is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for an entry-level position as a medical assistant. The Medical Assisting curriculum will provide students with the skills necessary to work the front or back office in a physician’s office, health department, clinic, or other medical facility. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to administer injections, take and read patient vital signs, assist in minor surgical procedures, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic First Aid, complete and code medical insurance documents, manage a physician’s office, perform charting and related documentation duties and perform venipuncture. Graduates are eligible to take the examination to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
