Specializations for Licensed K-12 Teachers. Our online master’s degree specializations help you develop new competencies to enhance your teaching techniques or advance to administration or leadership roles.

The K–12 Studies in Education specialization offers the opportunity to incubate, share, and test ideas for your classroom in collaboration with experienced faculty and motivated teachers throughout the nation. The curriculum is aligned with nationally recognized teaching standards, including the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), and is designed to prepare you to produce significant improvements in student achievement.

Note: This specialization is for current K-12 teachers interested in extending their education with a graduate degree. Please be aware that this specialization does not lead to initial teacher licensure.

Admission to the K–12 Studies in Education Master’s specialization requires learners to complete and submit the Capella University School of Education Certification of Teacher Licensure form.
