Capella University M.S. in Human Services/Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling
Capella University is the first and only online university to receive accreditation for two master’s degree specializations in counseling from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), formed in 1981 to be the independent accrediting arm for the American Counseling Association. The Marital, Couple, and Family therapy specialization was accredited in 2005 and accreditation has been extended through 2011, the longest accreditation term granted by CACREP.
This Capella online Master’s will teach you to apply systems-based counseling theories and research methods in a practice that focuses on relationship building with families and couples. This accredited counseling education program requires course work, field training, and two 10-day residencies. Residency Requirements: Two 10-day, face-to-face residencies.
