The objectives of the Network/Internet Professional Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) program are to provide the student with a working knowledge of software packages in three major groups: office applications, stand-alone operating systems and network operating systems from a technician’s point of view.

The student will also gain an understanding of the procedures used to install, configure and troubleshoot software packages in the same three groups to meet the specifications of the hardware and the end-user. The student will have an understanding of the personal computer and network hardware from a repair and installation perspective.

Lastly, the student will acquire the information necessary to prepare them to take the A+, Network+, CNA, CCNA, and Linux certification exams.

Program graduates will develop entry-level skills for employment in positions including but not limited to:

  • Computer Support Specialists
  • Computer System Analysts
  • Network and Computer System Administrators
  • Network Systems and Data Communications Analysts
  • Computer Automated Teller and Office Machine Repairers
  • Telecommunications Equipment Installers and Repairers
  • Electrical and Electronic Equipment Assemblers
  • Electromechanical Equipment Assemblers
  • Computer-Controlled Machine Tool Operators

This program is 18 months (days); 21 months (evenings).
