Medical Assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, and are capable of filling a variety of rewarding positions.

Our training program is divided into learning units called modules. You must complete the modules in their entirety, in any sequence, to successfully complete this curriculum.

The courses of the Medical Assisting program encompass lecture, theory and laboratory work in the following areas:

• Patient care and communication
• Clinical assisting and pharmacology
• Medical insurance, bookkeeping and health sciences
• Cardiopulmonary and electrocardiography
• Laboratory procedures
• Endocrinology and reproduction
• Therapeutic care

Upon successful completion of the modules, you are required to participate in an externship. This program provides you with the opportunity to interact with patients and apply the principles and practices learned in the classroom.

You will be prepared to maintain the highest quality of patient care; take vital signs, run laboratory and diagnostic tests, all while utilizing your organization, communication and management skills. Gain employment in a hospital, clinic, doctor´s office, nursing home, medical supply business, home healthcare agency, insurance company or pharmaceutical company.
