The focus of the Bachelor’s in Information Technology, with a concentration in Computer Systems, is to ensure students: Learn and apply the basics of collaborative learning and project management skills to teamwork throughout the program; Understand the foundational operating systems knowledge for Windows 2000, Unix and Linux operating systems; Explain the primary components of a network; Configure and troubleshoot a network operating system.; Learn the principles of programming using HTML to design simple web pages; Demonstrate an ability to program for database connectivity and deploy an application over a network; Understand and apply the principles of object-oriented programming for web applications; Create secure, scalable active web sites; Develop queries, forms and reports in Microsoft Access database using SQL; and Understand and execute the basic tools and concepts of administering and Oracle database.
