ASIS/Education Paraprofessional (Teacher's Aide)
The objective of the Associate of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree program is to prepare students for career advancement in a variety of fields with the knowledge, communication skills, critical thinking, and technical competencies required in the modern workplace.
If you are interested in working with children or adolescents, or perhaps are considering a teaching certificate in the future, the ASIS degree’s Educational Paraprofessional emphasis area will provide you with the opportunity to pursue these options. The ASIS accommodates students whose needs are satisfied by an associate’s degree as well as those who may wish to pursue study beyond the associate’s degree level. For those students that have a particular interest in working with children in an educational setting, the Educational Paraprofessional emphasis area provides specific preparation in this field.
