Graduates of this diploma program posses the skills necessary to objectively observe, report and document pertinent information to other healthcare team members to provide personalized care and comfort. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in medical or rehabilitation facilities or home health care, certified nursing assistant graduates are prepared for several career paths, including Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide and Restorative Aide.

Students who complete this program are eligible to become certified by taking the CNA Examination administered by Experior Testing Services for the Arizona State Board of Nursing.

Externships

Many programs offered at Tucson College include an externship at an approved site upon completion of the required coursework. The externship provides the student with an actual work environment in which to apply skills learned in the classroom.
