Kaplan College Associate - Medical Assistant

-
The objective of the Medical Assistant program is to develop a competent, professional, multi-skilled practitioner for today’s interactive healthcare team. Graduates will provide flexibility to the medical staff by exhibiting a broad range of administrative, laboratory and clinical skills. Students are required to pass a physical examination, blood test and TB test prior to externship, as well as obtain health and liability insurance. Graduates of the program may qualify to perform duties under the direction of a physician in private or group practices, clinics, ambulatory care settings, blood banks, nursing homes and other medical facilities. This program will assist students in preparing for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT), National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT) and National Certified Insurance & Coding Specialist (NCICS) exams. The RMA and RPT are sponsored by American Medical Technologists (AMT), and the NCMA, NCPT and NCICS are sponsored by the National Center for Competency Testing.
