The Video and Animation Production concentration presents the advanced conceptual and technical skills necessary for career opportunities in the video production, computer animation, motion graphics, and multimedia industries. Using industry-current computer hardware and software, students will be exposed to a challenging course of study in the processes of video production, directing, editing, compositing, 3D, character, and special effects animation, and will complete projects typical of the video and animation industry. Traditional principles of production, such as drawing storyboarding, direction, shot composition, character development, and modeling are coupled with training in digital compositing, post-production and rendering techniques within a simulated production studio environment. Legal and ethical issues, marketing principles, client relations, and current business practices in the video and animation production industries are taught to help prepare students for their internships and professional careers in production.
