Diploma - Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology

The objective of the Heating, Refrigeration, and A/C program is to prepare students with the knowledge, the technical skills, and the work habits required for an entry-level position in the field. Training will include basic electricity, electric motors and controls, domestic and commercial refrigeration, and residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems. The student will be prepared to professionally maintain, troubleshoot, and install in an effective and workman-like manner. Integrated into the program is special training that will provide the student with an opportunity to become an EPA Universally Certified Technician. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a Diploma. Graduates of this program may be involved in various residential and commercial applications including performing service, repair, install, and maintain functions on heating and air conditioning systems and refrigeration units; unit installation and replacement; duct and sheet metal work; air conditioning repair; refrigerant installation; boiler maintenance as well as pump and compressor replacement.
