The Medical Office Administration program prepares students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for an entry-level position in the medical field in a private physician’s office, clinic, hospital clerical department or other medical facility. This program includes instruction in computerized medical procedures such as insurance, bookkeeping, word processing and transcription. Graduates of this program may perform duties in any medical administrative or hospital administrative office. Specific duties may include filing insurance claims for both group and private practice insurance. CPT and ICD-9 coding. DRGs, medical transcription, accounts payable and receivable, patient files and filing systems, payroll and financial statements, and reception duties.
